Terms & Conditions
Emily Turner Photography & Film
Last updated: September 2026
I want working together to feel straightforward and enjoyable, so these terms are here to make sure we both know what to expect. They apply to photography, film, aerial/drone and related creative services provided by Emily Turner Photography & Film.
By confirming a booking, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Booking & payment
Your booking will be confirmed once we have agreed the details of the work and, where applicable, I have received the required booking fee or deposit.
The agreed price and services will be confirmed before the shoot. If you request additional work or services after booking, I will let you know about any additional costs before carrying out the work wherever possible.
Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are payable within 14 days.
For larger commercial projects, I may request a deposit or staged payments, which will be agreed in advance.
2. Cancelling or changing your booking
If you need to cancel or rearrange a booking, please let me know as soon as possible.
For commercial bookings, cancellations or changes made at short notice may incur a charge to cover time reserved, preparation and any non-refundable costs.
For family sessions, a booking fee may be retained where a session is cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice.
I understand that plans sometimes need to change. Where possible, I will always try to find an alternative date rather than simply cancelling a booking.
3. Weather & outdoor shoots
For outdoor photography and filming, weather can sometimes affect what is possible.
If conditions aren't suitable, I may recommend rearranging the shoot. I will always use my professional judgement with safety and the quality of the finished work in mind.
For drone work, flights may also be affected by wind, rain, visibility, airspace restrictions or other safety and legal requirements. If a drone flight cannot safely or legally take place, I will discuss alternative options with you where possible.
4. Property & holiday-let photography
For property shoots, please make sure the property is clean, tidy and ready to photograph before I arrive.
I may make small adjustments to improve the composition of a room, but significant cleaning, styling, gardening or preparation isn't included unless specifically agreed.
Please ensure that I have appropriate permission to photograph or film the property and let me know about any areas or items that should not be photographed.
If access is significantly delayed or restricted, this may reduce the time available for the shoot and additional time may be charged where appropriate.
5. Tourism & commercial shoots
For tourism, hospitality and other commercial work, the client is responsible for making sure the location is ready and accessible and that any necessary permissions have been obtained.
If staff, customers, guests, models or other individuals are being photographed or filmed, the client is responsible for arranging any permissions or releases required, unless we have agreed otherwise.
6. Family photography
For family sessions, parents or guardians remain responsible for the supervision and safety of children throughout the session.
I aim to keep family photography relaxed and natural, but children don't always follow the plan — and that's completely fine! I can't guarantee particular poses, expressions or photographs.
If a child becomes unwell or distressed, we can take a break or, where appropriate, rearrange the session.
7. Editing & finished work
I carefully select and edit the final images and footage using my own professional judgement and creative style.
Not every photograph taken during a shoot will be delivered, and RAW files or unedited images are not normally supplied.
Standard editing is included in the agreed price. Significant additional retouching or editing requested after delivery may incur an additional charge.
8. Delivery
I will give you an estimated delivery timeframe when we confirm your booking.
Delivery times can vary depending on the size of the project, weather, editing requirements and my current workload, but I will always aim to keep you informed.
Final images and films will normally be delivered digitally via an online gallery, download link or another agreed method.
Please download and safely store your final files once they have been delivered.
9. Copyright & using your images
I retain the copyright to photographs, films and other original creative work unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
Your booking includes permission to use the final images or films for the purposes we have agreed. If you would like to use the work for a different commercial purpose, licence it to another business or use it beyond the agreed scope, please get in touch so we can discuss this.
For property and holiday-let photography, the agreed licence will normally cover marketing and promoting the relevant property.
Family photography is supplied for personal use unless otherwise agreed.
10. Portfolio & social media
I love being able to share my work and, unless you ask me not to, I may use selected photographs or films from commercial projects for my website, social media, portfolio and marketing.
If your project is confidential, subject to an embargo or you would prefer your images not to be used publicly, please let me know when booking.
For family photography, I will always respect reasonable requests not to share images publicly.
11. Drone services
Drone photography and filming will always be carried out in accordance with applicable UK aviation rules and safety requirements.
I may need to change or cancel a proposed flight if conditions aren't safe or if a flight isn't legally possible.
I can't guarantee a particular flight path, altitude or aerial shot, as these depend on the location, weather, airspace and other operational considerations.
12. Equipment, data & unforeseen circumstances
I use professional equipment and take reasonable precautions to protect your photographs and footage.
In the unlikely event of equipment failure, data loss, illness, accident or another circumstance outside my reasonable control, I will do my best to resolve the situation or, where appropriate, rearrange the shoot.
I can't be responsible for circumstances beyond my reasonable control, including severe weather, travel disruption, venue closure, restrictions on drone operations or other unforeseen events.
Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Questions or concerns
I want you to be happy with both the experience and the finished work. If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch as soon as possible so I have the opportunity to help.
Any complaints should normally be raised within 14 days of receiving the final work.
14. Privacy
I will handle your personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and my Privacy Policy.
15. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
A final note
I want the booking process to feel simple and straightforward, so if you're unsure about anything in these terms or about how they apply to your particular project, please just ask.
